‘Business in the Community’ partnered with local Reading Businesses offered our Year 10 Business Studies students the opportunity to attend an event during ‘Responsible Business Week’. The event was a Question Time style panel discussion where students asked representatives from different businesses a range of questions, from how their organisations endeavour to behave responsibly to what they did with their profit. Representatives from Oracle, CGI, Fujitsu and the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) answered the students’ questions, giving them useful information to use as part of their business course. The question and answer session was followed by a networking session for the students, teachers and business people in attendance. During the networking students were encouraged to share their ideas for improving the way businesses work, to make workplaces better at helping communities thrive.
