Year 11 Into Year 12
Welcome to the John Madejski Academy Sixth Form – we are excited to welcome you as a student in September. This is a really exciting and important time in your life, as this period is the transitional phase between school and university, or school and the workplace. During your time at the John Madejski Academy Sixth Form you will develop the skills required for successful and fulfilling lives.
Success in the Sixth Form requires more than just attending your lessons in your chosen subjects – you need to demonstrate you are able to work and research independently and go “above and beyond”. In preparation for this each subject has provided an induction task for you to complete which will help prepare you for the rigours and demands of the course. You should bring the work for each of your courses with you to your first lesson in that subject in September. Completing the work is a compulsory part of the enrolment process.
We look forward to welcoming you in September and we hope you have an enjoyable Summer.

Year 12 Into Year 13
As you will have discovered from Year 12, success in the Sixth Form requires more than just attending your lessons. It requires you to be independent, inquisitive and organised. At John Madejski Academy we strive for every student to achieve the very best they possibly can. In order to facilitate this each subject has provided some work that needs to be completed over the Summer in order to smoothly transition from Year 12 into Year 13. This needs to be handed in to your teachers in your first lessons back in September. Completing this work is a compulsory part of the enrolment process.
We look forward to welcoming you back to John Madejski Academy in September and we hope you have an enjoyable Summer.
