U14 girls' County cup away to Theale Green

After only being back at school for a day, it was a quick turn-around, missing one of our key players (Niamh), it was important that the girls were focused and understood their roles - they did not disappoint. At half time we were leading 5-1. Hannah did a sterling job of holding the midfield, which allowed Carly, Tarc, Tin and Amie the freedom to create opportunities. This continued into the second half with more goals being scored. The final score was JMA 12- 1 Theale Green. We are now through to the Quarter finals.

The Year 7 and Year 8 Netball teams travelled to Leighton Park for the start of the yearly tournament. Due to the rugby season, many girls had been unable to make practice prior to the half term so although a little rusty, the girls were competitive throughout all of their games. Well done to the Year 8 team beating Reading Girls 1-0. We now look ahead to practice each Tuesday with the tournament continuing on Wednesdays.

A group of Year 9 girls' attended their first round robin games of the league this year over at Leighton Park. All girls worked hard to play as a team and showcase some of their improved skills. Although they lost their games, some were only by one goal. This shows how much progression has been made. We have two more rounds to face over the coming weeks.

Year 7 Football

The Year 7 football team took part in their second tri-match this week in the freezing cold. Just before kick off, a flurry of snow came down onto JMA. This did not stop us from participating and we ended up playing against Maiden Erleigh and Little Heath. We finished by drawing against Maiden Erleigh 2-2 and then losing to Little Heath.
