JMA Rockets Basketball November Update

What a busy term it has been! With all 3 of our teams in action during the weeks in their academy games and also on each weekend in the National League competitions.

Our u19 boys’ team have had a good run of results and a few nail biters to go along with that!

On Friday 23rd November, our regional team travelled to Whitgift School and managed to get away with a 1 point win in overtime! Last minute heroics by Dylan A capped off a frustrating performance which culminating in a victory (but only just!)

The same team also beat Farnborough convincingly on Saturday to make it a winning weekend.

Our girls' team have also been busy…..but in a different way!

With a rare bit of free time in their schedule after the u18 girls comprehensively beat Solent Kestrels by +35 points, the girls had a teambuilding workshop and this was one of the outcomes. Great to see Angelique at the top of the tree on her 18th Birthday!

And lastly the Boys EABL team had a tight game against reigning champions Barking Abbey. Leading by 4 late in the 3rd quarter but finally lost by double digits. A frustrating final 14 minutes and one that Coach Keane said was “perhaps a missed opportunity” for this young team.

This was after a very dominant display over SEEVIC College in Essex the week before with a very big 50 point difference.

The same boys team have had mixed results recently in their National League games with a narrow loss 67-55 to Solent and a competent win over Lewisham 88-35.
