Safe Drive Stay Alive

Safe Drive Stay Alive is celebrating its 12th year in 2017 and has performed to over 200,000 young people since its first performances in 2005. Safe Drive Stay Alive has become a firm fixture in the education calendar and year 12 students from John Madejski Academy attend each year. The Safe Drive Stay Alive presentation is aimed at new and pre-drivers in an emotive and hard-hitting way, influencing behaviour and attitude on the roads. On 7th November our new intake of year 12 students attended the presentation at the Hexagon in Reading and listened to the real life stories of the Police, Paramedics, Firemen and Doctors and how they have dealt with road traffic accidents involving young people. They also heard the difficult but powerful story of a mother who lost her daughter in a car accident and the story of a young woman who has is now disabled due to having an accident while driving her car too fast.

We hope that all our students will take on board the messages given in the performance and are safe on the roads as they are start on their journey as drivers.
