On Friday 28th September, JMA hosted a coffee morning at break time and lunchtime for staff to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. They enjoyed a range of home-baked cakes, made by both staff and students. A raffle was also held during the day to help contribute toward the fundraising.
Some of the amazing cakes sampled by staff were baked by our talented Year 9 and Year 10 students during their catering lessons. We would like to thank them for their hard work and selflessness in helping such a worthwhile cause.
Every two minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer. Every two minutes. Macmillan Cancer Support is just one of the fantastic charities that puts so much time and effort into fighting cancer and helping those with the disease.
With millions of people across the UK being affected by cancer every day, JMA is proud to have made a contribution to the Macmillan Cancer Support cause. Through the combined efforts of our staff and Year 9 and Year 10 students, we raised in excess of £250.
Mrs Warren, Principal’s PA, said: “Friday was a great event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. There was a lovely atmosphere in the staffroom as staff enjoyed coffee and cake during their break time."
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the students and teachers who donated, as well as the staff who arranged the event and made our fundraising possible.
