The 2019 programme of Reading Scholars kicked off on 17th December with the latest intake of John Madejski Academy students. The programme has grown in popularity across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire and is now oversubscribed with schools that have signed up.
Year 10 JMA students joined 10 other schools at the Henley Business School on the University of Reading campus for their introductory workshops. The day consisted of, enjoyable but demanding, presentations by members of the university teaching staff. This covered topics ranging from music history, cell growth, mathematics and many other areas of academic study.
Taking part in the Reading Scholars programme is a great opportunity to visit the University of Reading five times over the next 12 months in order to participate in a variety of workshops and activities that provide an insight into what it is like to be at university.
